I too had a brother.
No longer?

I don’t think Nasir will ever understand this conversation for the very, very close brush with grievous bodily injury that it was. You’re lucky you’re so pretty, baby.

I think he realized later though. It’s the smile that gives it away. It’s almost Agrons normal charming smile (and in a lot of gifs and fanvids it looks very friendly). But there’s a very quick deranged quality to it that really shows how insane with grief and anger Agron is at that time. And I think Nasir would notice that all the other smiles he got from Agron later were different.

Also, I know the scene of Agrons rampage in the ludus wasn’t filmed, but in my headcanon it still happened, and there must be rumors going about it. I imagine that the houseslaves cower a bit from Agron when he’s walking around grumpy, especially before he and Nasir got together, when he was less happy, because you know, he’s the insane one.

So Nasir would put two and two together and feel all guilty over it again.

Way too much text and headcanon for a gifset, but I love this scene, because there’s so much in the little details and the facial expressions (you can see Nasir regrets his remark when Agron walks away), and I loved how Nasir more or less apologised later by telling them his real name (while looking at Agron the entire time, and then Agron does his little nod, and I melt).

Oh, I’m sure Nasir realized instantly that the two things you don’t snark about at Agron are his brother and the rebellion. I’m just not sure he could ever really understand exactly how different Agron’s been with him right from the start, because he didn’t know him when Duro was still alive so he could very well assume that Agron’s batshit moments are just Agron being Agron.

I also think that in a totally non-creepy and non-incestious way, Nasir becomes a little brother substitute to Agron before he becomes a lover (this is really only my headcanon at this point but I feel like Nasir sort of reminds Agron of Duro, so he kind of finds himself feeling protective of him despite everything — just the fact that he didn’t lay a hand on him when Nasir jumped Spartacus with a knife, and seriously, I’m pretty sure Agron puts Spartacus before random pretty slave boys, so what exactly was going on there?) and that’s also something Nasir can only maybe guess at because I doubt he has the season 1 DVD.

I think Agron is someone who likes to take care of people, not all people in general, but I really think he needs someone in his life that is his to treasure. So in that way I think Nasir does replace Duro (but I also think that if they had lived safely in the land east of the Rhine, Agron would only have wound up with someone after Duro got settled).

I do think he was interested pretty fast though, in fact I think it happened when they were debating wether to kill him or not (and Agron did want to kill him, Spartacus said no), and after Crixus slapped him, and Nasir was his awesome self and hissed a bit and had his I will kill you slowly look on his face… I think that was the moment Agron thought I’d tap that, pity we can’t trust him - hence the train the wild dog comment.

And then he looked at him all day, liked him even more because he didn’t gave up, and then came this scene. BOOM.

I do agree that Nasir never really saw how insane Agron was, and might not understand completely, but I do think that all the rumours and gossips and whispers might paint an even crazier picture than Agron actually was. Because he only went insane on the Romans. I could be wrong, but I don’t think Agron ever struck the first blow in any of the handicuffs with Crixus or other people he had disagreements with. He’s way more a man of snark and insults than one of violence (even though he still kicks ass at it). If you’re not being violent, I don’t think he’d attack you (unless you’re Roman of course).

So I’m not surprised Nasir didn’t get killed at the spot here, I am surprised he was forgiven for it pretty fast.

Ack, I’m not even sure this was a response to your post Ftother, lets just say your thoughts gave me thoughts :)

everyone is like “omg tumblr should delete blogs that have been inactive for 2+ years” but i dont think they should

just imagine in 10 years time, in the back of your mind you remember tumblr, you open it up and you’re still logged in and you get to look at your blog and remember all this.

now imagine if you went back to see your old blog of your teenage years and it had been deleted because somebody ‘wanted your url’

how sad would that be
